NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE LAUNCHES 100% OE 2-WHEEL & QUAD SPARK PLUG CAPS FOR THE AFTERMARKET

Aftermarket distributors and workshops can now get their hands on a selection of 100% OE, 2-wheel spark plug caps from the world’s leading ignition and sensor manufacturer, thanks to a significant range extension.

NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE has launched five new caps from NGK Ignition Parts for key KTM, Rotax and Husqvarna 2-wheel and quad bike applications. The same parts also act as universal replacements for a variety of marine and small engines, making them accessible to Aftermarket customers across several sectors.

The caps guarantee exceptional quality credentials, with each part originally developed by NGK SPARK PLUG as original equipment. It is the first time in a decade that spark plug caps have been made available to the Aftermarket directly from NGK SPARK PLUG’s OE applications.

The expansion was planned with customers in mind, confirms David Loy, Vice President Aftermarket EMEA at NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE: “These new, all-OE spark plug caps represent more than coverage of extra applications. They also show how committed we are to continually developing our emblematic ignition ranges for the benefit of customers. We hope to introduce even more of our OE parts to the Aftermarket in the future.”

Depending on the technical set-up of an ignition system, spark plug caps are used to connect the spark plug to the HT ignition lead. The five new caps from NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE are its first suitable for spark plugs with a 9mm insulator diameter, and include both straight and angled designs. Like the other spark plug caps in its Aftermarket range, the new references are all ‘made in Japan” entirely by NGK.  

The expansion of NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE’s spark plug caps comes hot on the heels of a number of other product announcements made by the company at Automechanika Frankfurt in September. As well as launching the aftermarket’s most extensive selection of premium engine speed and position sensors under its NTK Vehicle Electronics brand, it confirmed extensions and harmonisations to its oxygen sensor and EGTS ranges. Overall the company is a leading provider of ignition parts and vehicle electronics across the automotive, motorcycle, marine and power tool markets.

The new spark plug cap references are available immediately, and can be found in the product finder on wwww.ngkntk.com. The caps are also listed in NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE’s 2-wheel catalogue 2018-19 and its small engine and marine catalogue 2018-19; both of which are published in 13 languages in print format and as a PDF download from its website.
