With the exception of one spark plug, the new additions are double precious metal spark plugs. The registration numbers of vehicles equipped with these spark plugs will rise to almost 10 million by 2025.
"These nine new spark plugs are once again proof of our commitment to expand the sales potential in the aftermarket for our customers," says Frank Massia, Director Marketing Aftermarket EMEA at Niterra EMEA GmbH.
The DILKAR7Q8, ILNFR9B7G, ILZKGR7B8G and DILZKAR7C11H types complement the company's strong double precious metal range. Reference ILZKGR7B8G covers a wide range of Stellantis Group vehicles. These include the Opel Astra L, Opel Corsa F and Peugeot 208 and 308 models. Reference ILNFR9B7G is used in the Opel Astra K, while references DILZKAR7C11H and DILKAR7Q8 are used in Honda and Subaru models respectively.
Reference DF5B-8A is a precious metal spark plug for Toyota and Lexus 2.5-litre hybrid models, including the popular Toyota RAV 4.
The ILTR6M9G and ILZKBR8D7G twin precious metal spark plugs offer a high-performance aftermarket solution for the Opel Insignia's 2.0-litre engines, while the latter serves the Peugeot 308 1.6 Hybrid and DS4 1.6 PureTech models.
The SIZKBR8B8HG double precious metal spark plug is used by BMW's M-Performance division, among others in vehicles such as the M3 and M5.
The dual precious metal spark plug ILKFR7A8 is used in the various models of the Stellantis Group such as the Jeep Compass, the Alfa Romeo Tonale and the Fiat 500X Crossover (available from 09 August 2023).
The spark plugs are part of Niterra's Laser Iridium range, which has at its heart a laser-welded iridium alloy on the centre electrode and in most cases a platinum chip on the ground electrode. This ensures optimum performance over a long service life and offers, among other things, stable idling, improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
These latest additions to the company's spark plug range will help strengthen its positioning as the global market leader in the aftermarket, covering 89% of vehicles in Europe alone.
