NGK SPARK PLUG HARMONISES EGTS SIZES, BOOSTING COVERAGE WITH FEWER PARTS
Press release from 25/07/2018

NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE has announced enhancements to its range of NTK exhaust gas temperature sensors (EGTS). The sensor specialist is harmonising the lengths of its EGTS cables while also launching several revised sensor references. Distributors, wholesalers and workshops can therefore benefit from higher market coverage, easier stock keeping and a fast turnaround.
Previously, identical exhaust gas temperature sensors from NGK SPARK PLUG’s sensor brand NTK Vehicle Electronics were available in three different cable lengths, each with its own part number. Now the ignition and sensor specialist has harmonised these options to ensure that each sensor comes in a single cable length suitable for all its relevant applications. In doing so, the company has reduced the overall number of EGTS part numbers listed, making distributor stock-holding much easier and the range faster moving.
As part of this update NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE is launching seven, revised EGTS part numbers. The resulting complete range of 38 references provides like-for-like, OE quality replacements for the European car parc.
David Loy, Marketing Director Aftermarket EMEA at NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE said: “As an OE and IAM supplier we always aim to offer the ideal part for a fair price, and streamlining our NTK EGTS cable lengths helps us continue to guarantee that in the future. The change even enables us to deliver better coverage in the aftermarket than we do for OE, and with the same high level of quality.”
All of the new sensors, part numbers and applications can be found in TecDoc. While the cable length updates are ongoing, older EGTS sensors with individual cable lengths that distributors may still have in stock, can be sold as usual.
Offering aftermarket customers a market-leading, complete solution for quality replacement sensors, NTK’s ranges include oxygen sensors, MAP/MAF and NOx sensors, as well as exhaust gas temperature sensors.
