NGK Ignition Parts launches latest 4-wheel spark plug & glow plug catalogue built on precision data framework

Since the previous catalogue was published in 2021, Niterra has added around 6,000 spark plug applications and 5,000 glow plug applications. The increased coverage gives workshops and distributors more cross-detailed vehicle data, helping them identify the correct part for specific vehicle and engine configurations.

All vehicle applications in the new edition are based on the standardised TecDoc vehicle data framework and its product linkages, with the TAF format providing the structured basis for data-exchange. This creates a consistent catalogue foundation across markets and supports more detailed vehicle-to-part identification. Niterra has consolidated and organised the underlying data to turn a large dataset into a practical reference tool. Targeted filtering and a revised register structure make product categories easier to locate, giving distributors, wholesalers and workshops a clearer route from vehicle identification to the relevant NGK Ignition Parts product. Based on the industry’s gold-standard aftermarket data, the catalogue will be immediately recognised by end users as a tool designed specifically to save time, reduce administrative overheads and protect margins.

The standardised product terminology and application data are intended to improve part-matching accuracy, reduce the risk of ordering errors and returns, and streamline the parts-identification process.
 

Turning complex data into a practical workshop tool

Although the catalogue is built on the highly structured TecDoc data framework, the new edition has been designed to keep that complexity in the background.

A ‘newly launched products’ section brings together the vehicle applications associated with recent range additions, providing users with a concise overview without requiring them to search extensive application tables.

The revised register structure makes individual product categories easier to find, while new and updated pictograms provide additional visual guidance throughout the catalogue.

More product information at a glance

The new catalogue also includes updated overviews of several important areas within the NGK Ignition Parts portfolio. The Iridium IX range and racing-parts summaries have been revised to help users identify relevant product families and references more easily. Product presentation has also been enhanced, with all product images now shown in colour and to scale, providing an additional visual reference when comparing parts.

Cross-referencing designed around aftermarket workflows

Cross-reference information has also been substantially updated. Original equipment and aftermarket cross-references are now presented in separate lists, while replacement information and the overview of discontinued articles have been revised.

Together, these tools support common distributor and wholesaler tasks, including identifying alternative references, checking product transitions and managing changes within existing stock portfolios. They are designed to make the catalogue a practical resource for ordering, stock management, sales-counter enquiries and workshop parts identification, not simply a product listing.

The launch follows Niterra's continued expansion of the NGK Ignition Parts 4-wheel portfolio for combustion-engine and hybrid vehicles.
