NGK Ignition Parts expands spark plug portfolio to increase coverage in motorcycle and specialised applications

Niterra is expanding its aftermarket portfolio under the NGK Ignition Parts brand with 16 new spark plugs designed for high-performance engines in motorcycles, marine and small engine applications. Launching at the start of the season, these latest additions will significantly increase market coverage across key segments, including high-revving motorcycles, SSVs, scooters, jet skis and outboard engines.

Engineered for durability and consistent performance under demanding conditions, the new spark plugs address the growing requirements of modern engines. The portfolio expansion covers more than 130 applications from 12 manufacturers, including several top-selling models in their respective segments.

Among the new applications are numerous references for motorcycles, covering a wide range from touring and cruising bikes, to street motorcycles and scooters. One such favourite is ILKR7J8, a double precious metal plug that covers a number of 310cc Zontes models, while SILMAR9C9 is a special iridium electrode-based double precious metal plug that is available for the powerful Honda CBR 600 RR. The latest additions also support popular models, including the 1290 and 1390 twin-spark KTM Super Duke and Super Adventure, served by LKAR9DI-10, a single precious metal spark plug. Aprilia motorcycles are also well covered with MR9DI-7, a single precious metal plug, suitable for a wide range of 125cc, 457cc, 660cc and 1100cc models and marking a first-to-market replacement. Likewise, the standard nickel LMAR7G is an excellent OE replacement for popular 560cc scooters such as the Yamaha TMAX 560, one of the best-selling large displacement maxi scooters in the EU. The LMAR9A-9 is suitable for both the MT-09 street bike and the Tracer 9 sports-touring model, both 900cc Yamaha machines. A key addition to the range is the CPR7EA-9S, designed for Honda motorcycles and scooters with popular 125cc engines, including the MSX 125 and Monkey 125. Likewise, the MR7C-9N is a good fit for certain Honda 110cc scooters.

Engineered for modern combustion engines, NGK spark plugs deliver reliable performance and durability, even under harsh operating conditions. Apart from motorcycles, the new references also cover a variety of small engine and marine applications used in demanding environments. This includes the ILMAR7H9, a double precious metal spark plug, designed for 400hp and 450hp V8 outboard marine engines, while the single precious metal reference KR9EI-8G, is designed for BRP Sea-Doo jet skis equipped with the Rotax 1630 ACE engine. Like jet skis, snowmobiles are built for demanding terrain and harsh operating conditions, requiring durable and high-performance components. The double precious metal ILKR8Q7S is an excellent choice for a number of Ski-Doo models fitted with variations of the popular ROTAX E-TEC engines. For industrial applications, the double precious metal spark plug ILZKAR7P5D is suitable for selected Still, Linde and Doosan forklift models.
