Nickel and iridium spark plugs in front of their product packages
Niterra, a trusted global supplier of high-performance OE-quality products for the entire ignition process, has given its NGK Ignition Parts 4-wheel spark plug range a major coverage boost with the addition of 26 new aftermarket components. The new parts are a fit for premium vehicles from Porsche, Volvo and Genesis through to mass-market brands such as Skoda, Fiat, and Dacia, and will help increase vehicle in operation (VIO) growth by 20% over the next two years. This year alone, they are set to cover a car parc of almost 9 million vehicles, which will considerably reinforce NGK Ignition Parts’ coverage.

The new spark plugs have been released in five batches between September 2025 and March 2026. While five of the new plugs belong to the nickel Yellow Box range, 21 items belong to the NGK Laser Iridium range, which features a laser-welded iridium alloy on the centre electrode and, in the overall majority of cases, a platinum chip on the ground electrode. This helps improve performance and offers excellent anti-fouling properties. Durable and abrasion-resistant materials ensure slow wear, while the iridium and platinum surfaces deliver stable idling, and strong performance.

“I am excited about the addition of 26 new spark plugs for 4-wheel applications offering a significantly increased car parc coverage. These products further expand our extensive aftermarket selection and underscore our steadfast commitment to delivering the highest quality aftermarket products to our customers, while also ensuring we meet the needs of an ever-growing range of the most popular vehicles on the road,” says Michael Liam Gibbs, Head of Category Management Aftermarket Marketing EMEA, Niterra EMEA GmbH.

The reference SILZKGR8H7S is among four spark plugs released in September and is pioneering the automotive aftermarket. The item is tailored to a variety of current Audi and Porsche models, including the Porsche Panamera 4.0 Hybrid and the Audi SQ5 Sportback Quattro 3.0 TFSi. Along with references IZFER7B4D and DILKAR8P8DY, this double precious metal plug provides excellent ignitability and superb resistance to wear. In October, the ignition specialist launched an additional double precious metal spark plug, ILZKR6P11S, which is suitable for a range of Suzuki vehicles, including the popular Swift 1.2 VVT Dualjet Hybrid. The company released another six double precious metal applications in December. Among these, the references ILMAR8G8GS, SILZKGR8F7E and ILKAR7V7D are pioneers of the independent aftermarket. While DILFR6L11 is designed to fit popular Mitsubishi vehicles such as the Mirage, Attrage, and Space Star, the spark plug ILKAR7V7D fits for a high amount of recent Renault and Dacia applications, such as the Renault Captur 1.0 LPG or the Dacia Sandero 1.0 LPG.

Among the five spark plugs launched in February 2026, SILZKR8H9G is pioneering the independent aftermarket, while DILKAR6K11S covers a host of new models from the Renault-Nissan car alliance, including the popular Renault Clio 1.6, the Nissan Juke 1.6, and the Dacia Jogger 1.6 models. Both components are part of the Laser Iridium range.

In March 2026, a further ten parts were added to the line-up, with LNAR7A-12G, a nickel spark plug from the Yellow Box range, another first to be offered in the aftermarket. The three additions SILZKR7L11S, SILZKR8J8GS and SILKR8J8GS, all from the Laser Iridium range, are excellent fits for a broad range of Hyundai and Kia applications and cover almost three million vehicles in 2026. Along with LNAR7A-12G (Yellow Box), ILZKER9B4DS (Laser Iridium), and LMAR8K-9S (Yellow Box), they all follow Niterra’s OE business. The latter fits for a high amount of recent Fiat applications such as the Fiat 500 1.0 Mild Hybrid or the Fiat Panda 1.0 Mild Hybrid.

Collectively, these new spark plugs will significantly expand Niterra’s aftermarket product range and once again demonstrate that by closing coverage gaps quickly and responding to new vehicle launches at high speed, NGK Ignition Parts is ensuring that its aftermarket offering remains comprehensive, competitive, and technologically up to date.
