44 new NTK MAF sensors expand EMEA vehicle coverage

NTK Vehicle Electronics has expanded its mass airflow (MAF) sensor portfolio with the launch of 44 new part numbers in May. The latest additions will increase vehicle fleet coverage across the EMEA region by around 6% equivalent to approximately 8.8 million vehicles.

Located between the engine’s air filter and the intake manifold, the MAF sensor plays a vital role in the engine management system as it determines the air mass entering an internal combustion engine (ICE). Using this information, the engine control unit (ECU) calculates the correct quantity of fuel for efficient combustion. In diesel engines, the MAF sensor primarily controls exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). NTK’s MAF sensors use either hot-wire or hot-film technology and are available with or without an integrated temperature sensor. NTK's MAF range comprises 241 part numbers for the European aftermarket that provide coverage for approximately 156 million vehicles across the region. This represents around 63% of vehicles in operation (VIO) across EMEA, or around 30 million vehicles.

The 44 newly introduced references further strengthen the range by covering many popular vehicles such as Volkswagen's Golf and Polo models, Audi's A3, A4, and A5 cars, and BMW's 1, 3, 4 and 5 Series models, together with niche vehicles. Part 96571 is a common aftermarket reference suitable for numerous Renault-Nissan Alliance vehicles, including the Nissan Micra V 1.5 dCi from 2016 onwards, and the Renault Kadjar crossover. Part 91479 covers a wide selection of BMW Group cars, including Mini models. At the specialist end of the range, 3197 is designed for the first-generation Kia Rio, while 97133 fits several Alfa Romeo, Opel and Vauxhall models produced during the 1990s and early 2000s. 91915 supports a broad range of North American General Motors vehicles, particularly Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC models equipped with V6 and V8 petrol engines, while 93578 is dedicated to a small number of early-1990s Volvo models powered by the 2.0-litre B204E petrol engine.
