Charlie makes the podium in France

NGK Ambassador Charlie Martin started her maiden Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe campaign strongly with a class podium and points haul at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.

Behind the wheel of their Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo 2 run by Brutal Fish Racing, Charlie and teammate Jason Keats, started the first race of the weekend in P3, however she unfortunately made contact with another competitor and after being forced into a spin dropped to fourth before handing driving duties over to Jason who took the car to sixth place.

A well-executed opening stint from Jason in the final race would see the pair sitting in sixth when the time came for the required driver change and pit stop with Charlie getting back behind the wheel and reaching third place by the start of the final lap when she executed a brilliant overtake to claim second place and a well deserved podium for the team.

Charlie said: “To come away from this opening weekend of the season with a second place finish in class and some points on the board is fantastic! The car felt great all weekend, so a massive thank you to the team at Brutal Fish for giving us the platform to go and battle it out for the podium places.

Next up for the pair is round two of the championship at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager of NGK brand owner Niterra UK Ltd, said: “It was a tremendous start to the season for Charlie and Jason who secured what is hopefully the first of many podiums over the course of the season.”
