BMW M4 racing at the Nürburgring
Team Riller and Schnauck, powered by Cerny Motorsport, claimed an impressive victory in the SP10 class of the legendary Nürburgring 24 Hours race, held this year between 14-17 May. The team crossed the finish line of the legendary race, famously known as the “Green Hell”, in their BMW M4, after pushing through fierce competition from over 150 race cars in a dazzling example of ability that took in day and night driving. This true test of endurance and skill takes place on the 25.3-kilometre circuit that combines the “Nordschleife” and the “Grand Prix Circuit".

When vehicles tackle one of the most demanding tracks in the world, their success or failure depends not just on the setup or a driver’s skill, but also on the quality of the components at the heart of the engine. Spark plugs, ignition coils, and different sensors must operate flawlessly under extreme stress, temperature, and pressure. Through its renowned aftermarket brands, NGK Ignition Parts and NTK Vehicle Electronics, Niterra is at the forefront of the action with powerful new partners.

A first-class team behind the steering wheel

No successful racing team can win without outstanding talent behind the steering wheel and the Cerny team is no exception. The international driver line-up is firmly anchored in Europe, with members from France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Joshua Bednarski is one such driver who is showing outstanding form in motorsport. Since his debut in 2024, the Frenchman has logged some impressive statistics, including a record Bridge to Gantry (BTG) time of 6:47.9 at the Nürburgring. Joshua is also building a strong fanbase among young followers on YouTube, as is German driver Tom Schütze. Tom launched his career by sharing his racing adventures via social media, where he has now reached over 130,000 followers.

Experienced driver Jeroen Bleekemolen was born with driving in his blood. The Dutchman is the son of former Formula 1 driver Michael Bleekemolen and has a good deal of experience spanning many varied championships. Rounding out the team is Peter Cate, a former Aston Martin factory driver, who has chronicled his experience in the book “Racing Hell: The Hidden Truths of Motorsport”. With this dynamic mix of strong personalities, the team helped captivate motorsport fans both trackside and online at the Nürburgring. A record-breaking crowd of more than 352,000 on-site spectators watched this year, and millions more followed via livestream and through media coverage.

“We have been working towards this win for months and our success is testament to the entire team’s dedication and our carefully planned strategy,” said Joshua Bednarski after the race. “I couldn’t be prouder of our collective effort. This win truly belongs to everyone involved, including Niterra, whose parts made a real difference for us. Their dependability and quality gave our team the edge we needed, and we're grateful for the support they provided."

A victory built on strong performance and solid partnerships

Cerny Motorsport’s triumph showcases technical excellence and highlights the impact of Niterra’s NGK Ignition Parts and NTK Vehicle Electronics brands under the car’s bonnet. Outfitted with premium spark plugs, ignition coils, and sensors, the race car conquered one of the toughest events on the motorsport calendar. These components proved their effectiveness under the extreme demands of the 24 Hours marathon, excelling when every second mattered. The vehicle’s prominent NGK and NTK branding also attracted significant attention in the emotionally charged atmosphere of the “Green Hell,” leaving a long-lasting impression with motorsport fans at this spectacular event.

The team’s choice of NGK Laser Iridium precious metal spark plugs, which feature an iridium tip and platinum ground electrode, delivered superb ignition performance, high combustion efficiency, and impressive durability. This technical edge proved vital as the team battled stressful conditions, extreme temperatures, and mounting pressure to secure the SP10 class victory.

This seamless blend of technical excellence and team determination set the stage for a truly memorable achievement.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours triumph is more than just a win for the team and Niterra, it’s a reflection of hard work, skill, and true motorsport passion.
