Greg Hancock hoping for a medal finish

American Greg Hancock goes into the last round of the 2018 World Speedway championship with a strong chance of winning a medal.

The NGK-sponsored four-time World champion scored 12 points at the German Grand Prix to leave him just five points off third place in the championship going into the final GP of the season in Torun, Poland on October 6.

A successful meeting in Poland could secure Hancock’s six appearance on the World championship rostrum in eight years after making the final in Teterow, Germany.

NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd Marketing Manager Mark Hallam said: “Greg has had an impressive end to the season and I’m sure all his British fans will be rooting for him in Poland next weekend.”

Fellow NGK-sponsored riders Emil Sayfutdinov and Matej Zagar currently lie in eight and tenth position respectively in the championship which is led by Tai Woffinden who is aiming to become Britain’s first-ever triple World champion.

NGK – a leading supplier of original equipment (OE) spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda and other engine management sensors – is a long-standing supporter of Speedway and sponsors a number of top riders as well as the Wolverhampton Wolves Speedway team.
