Charlie impresses in American debut

NGK Ambassador Charlie Martin made an impressive start to the 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America championship by claiming a podium finish at her first meeting.

Charlie made her debut in the series at Laguna Seca alongside her co-driver Jason Keats, taking charge of the #54 Dream Racing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO 2.

Qualifying third in the Lamborghini Cup class for the first race, she was unfortunately forced to retire due to an ABS issue despite showing promising pace and claiming the fastest lap of the race in class.

Undeterred and starting from fourth in class in Sunday's race, the pair were determined to push for the podium places and a strong performance saw them claim third place in class.

Charlie said: “I'm delighted with our podium result this weekend. We've worked very hard through the off-season to prepare for this so it's great to have that work rewarded. Of course, we know we could've had more to celebrate if fate hadn't played its part on Saturday but that's motor racing. We knew the pace was there and we were confident it would come through in the end. Well done and a big thank you to Jason and all of the team for their efforts. Let's build on this at NOLA later this month!”
