NGK SPARK PLUG, the world’s leading ignition and sensor specialist, is pleased to welcome Clarios to its joint customer loyalty programme ‘proPoints’. Owner of the car battery brand, Varta, Clarios will become the fourth company – along with HELLA, ZF and NGK SPARK PLUG – to participate in proPoints. This development demonstrates the high level of consumer trust which proPoints has already gained. It also means that independent garages throughout Germany and Austria can now benefit even more when purchasing Aftermarket products from the participating companies and their corresponding brands.

As of July 1, when Clarios will officially join, proPoints will be able to provide workshops with a supply coverage of 70%. Launched last year to replace the old NGK SPARK PLUG ‘Dangke’ programme in Germany and Austria, proPoints works by giving participants the opportunity to collect bonus points when purchasing from the participating premium brands. These points can then be exchanged for high quality consumer goods in a variety of categories which range from tools, sport equipment and consumer electronics to health and beauty. Powering one in every three cars worldwide, Clarios’ brand Varta will join NGK Ignition Parts, NTK Vehicle Electronics, HELLA, Hella Pagid, ZF, LEMFÖRDER, SACHS and TRW in this collaboration.

With over 10,000 workshops in Austria and Germany already signed up and availing of the programme’s fantastic offers, taking part in proPoints is easy. All garages have to do is register at www.propoints.com. They then start collecting 25 points for every 100 euros spent at participating distributors, who credit the corresponding points to their accounts. Registration is completely free and non-binding.

From tools to multimedia and technology offers to training, proPoints has something for every participating workshop, who in addition to receiving attractive rewards, can also lease and refinance cutting-edge workshop equipment via ‘proPoints macs’. For example, if the workshop has achieved an agreed additional sales target, the leasing fees will be reimbursed 100% by the wholesaler. By leasing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment from Hella Gutmann and exchanging bonus points for attractive rewards and technical training, proPoints supports the workshops by giving them a head start as they prepare for the mobility of the future.

“Now in its second year, proPoints’ success is demonstrated by the fact that a globally renowned company such as Clarios is coming onboard, further boosting our offer to workshop customers,” says Marc Kuntzsch, Director Central Europe Aftermarket EMEA at NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE GmbH. “proPoints is a unique cross-selling opportunity which will soon see a geographic extension to certain neighbouring countries, which means that even more participants will be able to avail of its fantastic offers,” he says.
