Every part in the two-phase introduction delivers outstanding NGK SPARK PLUG quality and performance. Three, high quality ceramic glow plugs have been made available in August; whilst a further ceramic glow plug and three, precious-metal spark plugs are being launched in September, each of which the company also supplies to car manufacturers as Original Equipment.
Altogether, the four new glow plug types – CZ167 (launched in Yellow Box and D-Power packaging), CZ271, CZ274 and CZ24 – fit an extensive 181 diesel applications, equivalent to more than 1.7 million vehicles on the road. Part CZ167 alone covers 145 applications representing more than 900,000 cars, including many high volume Renault, Nissan and Opel/Vauxhall models. Glow plug CZ274 is designed for a large, fast-growing parc of nearly 800,000 popular Honda vehicles such as the Accord 2.2, Civic 1.6 and 2.2, CR-V and HR-V applications. In addition, CZ271 covers a number of Mitsubishi L200 engines, whilst CZ24 brings further Renault, Opel and Vauxhall options to the range. With each plug made to exceptional quality by NGK SPARK PLUG, the advanced ceramic technology provides better and faster glow performance, even under extreme conditions.
Thanks to the company’s three, Original Equipment spark plug introductions, distributors and workshops will also be able to fit iridium and platinum replacements to more than 400,000 additional petrol cars on Europe’s roads; ensuring reliable ignition and high resistance against wear. All of the new plugs are part of the Laser Iridium – Laser Platinum Box range. Reference IZFR5R7G covers recent key Opel/Vauxhall applications including the Astra and Corsa 1.4 ECOTEC, whilst DILKAR7E9HS applies to an attractive number of common Renault and Nissan models such as the Nissan Juke and Qashqai, as well as Renault Megane Phase IV. Spark plug IFR7N10 is dedicated to several Aston Martin V8 Vantage engines – making NGK SPARK PLUG the first to market for those sports car applications.
Frank Massia, Director Marketing Aftermarket EMEA at NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE confirmed: “We are extremely pleased to expand our spark and glow plug car parc coverage even further with these important introductions. The sales potential for our Aftermarket customers will also continue to grow, as the extra car parc immediately covered by the new plugs is set to expand by 6% within the next two years.”
Including the latest range extensions, NGK SPARK PLUG’s market-leading offering has expanded to more than 260 glow plug part numbers and 1,500 spark plugs. “The August launches are already available on the TecDoc web catalogue from mid-September,” continued Frank Massia. “The September introductions will then be listed from mid-November.”
