NGK Spark Plug’s RaciNGK team gets ready for the 2016 VLN competition

Ratingen, 23.02.2016 – The German VLN endurance ranks among the most successful and traditional mass motorsports series. More than 200 international teams participate. In 2015, NGK Spark Plug Europe’s RaciNGK team entered the competition – and celebrated great successes. Preparations for the new season have already begun.

 

2015 saw the 39th VLN competition in history and welcomed a new entrant: NGK Spark Plug Europe entered its own car in the VLN's SP8 category. Various driver teams piloted a Ferrari 458 Challenge for the RaciNGK team. 

The NGK-branded racing car from Maranello got off to an impressive start, winning the last two races in its SP8 category. Even more remarkable was the fact that in both of these races, the car and its drivers achieved impressive positions in the overall VLN placement as well. On top of these wins, the team also secured three second places over the entire season, thanks to an amazing performance. 

“Racing and endurance racing have always been in NGK’s DNA demonstrating our expertise as ignition and sensor specialist,” says Damien Germès, Senior Vice President of NGK Spark Plug Europe GmbH. “The VLN endurance series is one of the greatest racing series worldwide. Again in 2016, our VLN racing car features spark plugs and sensors from NGK and NTK and puts them through the ultimate test. With each new race, our products demonstrate their technological performance under maximum competitive pressure.”

One thing is for sure: The race will be on in just a few weeks! The 2016 season will kick off in April. The RaciNGK team is already preparing for the coming season.
