All six spark plugs are identical to the plugs NGK supplies to the manufacturers as original equipment. The SILMAR9B9 (OE part no. 920700047, NGK stock no. 95399) e.g. stems from NGK’s OE business with Kawasaki. It comes with an extremely thin Iridium tip on the centre electrode and a ground electrode with tapered edges fitted with square platinum chip (SPE technology) laser welded. While the use of the precious metals makes the electrodes more resistant against wear, the SPE design improves mixture accessibility and thus ignition reliability. The spark plug therefore ensures driving pleasure on the more powerful engine variants of the Kawasaki Ninja – for the smaller Ninja models and the Z250 series from Kawasaki, NGK has started supplying the Aftermarket with the OE identical MR8CI-8 (NGK stock no. 96973, OE part no. 920700045).
The newly introduced SILMAR8C9 (OE part no. 31917K40F01, NGK stock no. 90097) and SILMAR8A9S (OE part no. 31909MJPG51, NGK stock no. 90992) are used as original parts by Honda. They are also endowed with an Iridium tip on the centre electrode and a platinum reinforced SPE ground electrode. While the first one is OE on the NSS Forza 125AD ABS, the second is a perfect match for the CRF 1000 Africa Twin series.
For Ducati’s series production, NGK Spark Plug designed the KR8C-G (OE part no. 67040491A, NGK stock no. 97516). It is a standard spark plug with a centre electrode made from nickel alloy and guarantees perfect ignition in the Ducati Scrambler 400. Finally, NGK Spark Plug Europe has introduced the Iridium spark plug CR6EIA-9 (OE part no. 0948200590, NGK stock no. 7967) to the Aftermarket, which is Suzuki’s choice on nine quad models, among those the LT-A 700 X and the LT-A 500 XP.
