The Volkswagen Group has been using different Lambda sensor connectors on identical cars. When replacing a Lambda sensor on these models, it may therefore be the case that the port on the side of the Engine Control Unit (ECU) does not match the Lambda sensor connector. This applies to original parts as well as to Aftermarket sensors.
The three new NTK Lambda sensors OZA723-EE66 (NGK Stock No. 90517, VW Part Nos. 1K0 998 262 C / 1K0 998 262 E), OZA723-EE67 (NGK Stock No. 96050, VW Part No. 1K0 998 262 Q) and OZA723-EE68 (NGK Stock No. 95870, VW Part No. 1K0 998 262 S) are equivalent to VW’s OES parts and make it easy to replace the ECU’s connector without the need to cut cables. The alternative connector as well as simple instructions for replacement can be found inside the Lambda sensor packaging. The only additional tool required is a pin pusher.
“With these sensors, distributors and workshops only need to stock three part numbers to always have a Lambda sensor for more than 400 vehicle applications from the VW group at hand. In doing so, they can rely on the quality of the world’s leading Lambda sensor brand NTK," says David Loy, Marketing Director Aftermarket Europe at NGK Spark Plug Europe.
All applications of the three new sensors can be looked up in the current NTK sensor catalogue as well as in NGK Spark Plug Europe’s online product finder at
www.ngk-europe.com.
NGK has also made an installation tutorial available on its Tekniwiki platform (www.tekniwiki.com), which hosts a wide range of technical content and other valuable information. The video can also be accessed using the attached code.
